Jessica Pegula, the 30-year-old American tennis star, tends to keep a fairly low profile, well, as much as her growing fame allows. But as she grows in prominence – her current US Open run adding to that – fans across the country are keen to learn more about her, and that includes getting some insight into who she is married to. Step forward Taylor Gahagen.
Gahagen comes from Williamsville, a suburb of Buffalo, New York. Baseball was his sport of choice and he picked up a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SUNY Fredonia, while also part of finance and business societies. He later completed his MBA at Canisius College, where he was involved in both a marketing and psychology club.
Currently the managing partner at Dragos Capital, a private equity firm, and Agarwood Wealth, a wealth management company, Taylor previously spent nearly a decade working at Pegula Sports and Entertainment, the company owned by Pegula’s parents. More on that later although here’s a local news piece done back in 2016 on him.
Jessica and Taylor’s relationship began in 2015, when an Instagram post got the rumour mill turning. While it’s unclear exactly how they met, it’s likely they were introduced through her family’s business. They initially planned to marry in October 2020, but the pandemic pushed their wedding to October 2021, when they celebrated their union at the picturesque Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. Despite Jessica’s busy tennis and business career, the couple found time to honeymoon in Costa Rica in 2022.
Sharing a mutual love for dogs, Jessica and Taylor founded A Lending Paw, a charity that trains rescue dogs to become service animals. Their dogs even made a cameo in the Netflix series “Break Point.” In addition to his other roles, Taylor is also the vice president of Jessica’s skincare brand, Ready 24, which, rather appropriately, offers products tailored for those with active lifestyles.
As you may have heard, Jessica’s parents, Terry and Kim Pegula, have quite a wealth behind them. According to reports, this gives them a net worth of over $7 billion and they are the owners of local franchises, the Buffalo Bills (NHL) and the Buffalo Sabres (NHL) among others.
Terry’s wealth came from oil and gas development, initially founding East Resource which profited significantly from the now controversial fracking process, but sold off many of his assets to Royal Dutch Shell and American Energy Partners. He is said to have met Kim when she was interviewing to be a waitress in a New York restaurant, and together they now run
