This marks Fridman’s first visit to India and he expressed excitement about experiencing the country’s vibrant culture and engaging with its people.
“I will be doing a podcast with Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, at the end of February. I’ve never been to India, so I’m excited to finally visit and experience many facets of its vibrant, historic culture and its amazing people as fully as I can,” Fridman shared on his social media.
The podcast is expected to focus on initiatives such as Digital India, Make in India and the country’s advancements in AI, according to news agency IANS.
Lex Fridman is a celebrated computer scientist who rose to prominence with his ‘The Lex Fridman Podcast’ which debuted in 2018. The show is known for its engaging conversations with influential figures across science, technology, sports and politics. As per his Twitter Bio, the podcaster and MIT research scientist is “interested in robots and humans”.
Fridman has hosted an impressive roster of global leaders and innovators, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Fridman’s academic acclaim began in 2019 when Elon Musk praised his MIT study on driver behavior with Tesla’s semi-autonomous systems. Despite criticism for lacking peer review, the study significantly boosted Fridman’s reputation in the tech community.
“While Joe Rogan casts a wide net across a variety of topics, Fridman’s focus on intellectual depth is making waves among a younger, tech-savvy audience,” Essentially Sports said about the podcast.
Prime Minister Modi is no stranger to the podcasting world. He previously appeared on the People by WTF podcast, hosted by Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath. During this two-hour conversation, Modi delved into his early life, leadership philosophies and India’s technological advancements.
