Travel management company Wings Global Travel is expanding its operations in Latin America with plans to open offices in Colombia and Argentina.
The move will support the UK-based company’s “rapidly growing” client base in the region’s energy sector, with the TMC looking to recruit around 50 new staff for its offices in Bogotá and Buenos Aires.
Wings also expects to increase headcount at its existing offices in Brazil and Texas, which, together with its new Colombian and Argentinean operations, will increase global headcount by approximately 10 per cent, the TMC said.
Frank Palapies, chief strategy officer – global energy & resources at Wings, said: “Increasing our direct presence with new wholly owned operations in strategic locations will strengthen our existing presence in the region and provide a solid foundation for future growth.
“The expanded team will initially be delivering crew mobilisation, individual travel, and VIP services for our energy sector clients, but having bases in these major business centres will also open up wider opportunities in LATAM and beyond,” he added.
Wings is ranked as the 18th largest TMC in the UK in BTN Europe’s Leading TMCs 2024. It is also the 12th largest TMC in the Nordic region and currently employs more than 450 people worldwide.
