At the American Express halfway point, a veteran Tour player and four-time winner holds the top spot on the leaderboard alongside a player who is still hoping to claim his maiden Tour title.
Charley Hoffman and Rico Hoey are 16-under par through two rounds and hold a one-shot lead over their three closest competitors — a group that includes Mark Hubbard, Sepp Straka and Justin Lower.
Hoffman hasn’t won on Tour since the 2016 Valero Texas Open while Hoey’s best finish was runner-up at last year’s ISCO Championship.
