American Airlines will next month rollout a new amenity kit for premium cabins on board more than 300 international and transcontinental flights, the carrier announced on Wednesday (17 April).
The new kits, available year-round for Flagship First Class, Flagship Business Class and Premium Economy cabins, include an eye mask, ear plugs, tube socks, a foldable wheat straw and toothbrush, Miradent toothpaste, Relevant lip balm, and Joanna Vargas hand and body lotion.
The carrier worked with beauty retailer Thirteen Lune on the offerings, and will cycle new brands and products into the kits over time, including offering limited-edition kits.
In addition, the carrier will offer new bedding, pillows and sleepwear. American Airlines collaborated with textile company John Horsfall to develop bedding made with recycled materials.
First-class customers will receive pyjamas on international flights, and business-class customers on all international flights will get slippers, instead of only on ultra-long-haul flights.
Refreshed seats this summer
The carrier this summer will also introduce its new Flagship Suite seat on Boeing 787-9, 777-300 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft. The lie-flat seats will include a wireless charging station, Bluetooth capability, ‘multiple’ storage spaces and a sliding door for added privacy.
Updated seats in the premium cabin will also feature wireless charging, additional storage space and privacy headrest wings, the carrier said. Economy seats will include new 4K seatback screens, new Bluetooth connectivity and USB charging ports.
