LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The American Job Center is inviting community members to a career fair on Wednesday, July 17.
The Rooftop Career Fair will be held on the sixth floor of the parking garage above the American Job Center at 1330 N St. from 10 a.m. to noon. Local employers will be there and will have the opportunity meet potential future workers.
“We saw success with our Rooftop Career Fair in 2023 and decided it would be beneficial for both employers and job seekers to keep the momentum going. We are excited to be adding new employers and veteran resources to our job fair,” AJC Workforce Administrator Dylan Wren said.
Local employers attending the event include Advanced Services, Allo Fiber, Apace, B&R Stores, Inc., CL Construction, Cedars, Duncan Aviation, Home Instead, Instinct Pet Foods, Lincoln Electric System, Lincoln Electrical JATC, Lincoln Public Schools, Mosaic, State of Nebraska, NEBCO, Nelnet, Penlink, Russ’s Market, Super Saver, Transportation Security Administration, UNMC College of Dentistry, United States Postal Service, Uribe Refuse Services, Watts Electric Company and more.
The American Job Center offers four main coaching and training programs:
Features of the American Job Center include conference and interview rooms allow clients to meet potential employers and career planners. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as free Wi-Fi, webcams, televisions and iPads, the rooms allow clients to interview for potential jobs in person or virtually.
Those attending may park for free in the Park & Go garage at 14th and N streets and use the elevator. To receive one hour of free parking, attendees must enter their license plate number into one of the kiosks in the parking garage, according to Wren.
