MARIETTA — “American Pickers” is heading back to the Buckeye State.

The popular History Channel documentary series that explores the world of antique “picking” plans to film episodes in Ohio in March and is looking for leads.

The show follows skilled pickers as they hunt for historically significant or rare items, as well as memorable characters and their collections.

“The Pickers have seen a lot of rusty gold over the years and are always looking to discover something they’ve never seen before,” according to a press release from Cineflix, the company that produces the show. “They are ready to find extraordinary items and hear fascinating tales about them.”

Producers are looking for leads and invite people who have or know folks with “a unique time, a story to tell and (are) ready to sell.” The release notes the Pickers do not pick “stores, flea markets, malls, auction businesses, museums or anything open to the public.”

The show announced plans to return to Ohio last year but their schedule ended up changing, a producer said recently.

Their most recent trip to the Mid-Ohio Valley came in 2022, when they visited the former Hunt’s General Store in Cottageville. A store that once sold milk, groceries, hardware, guns, appliances, clothing and meat was owned by the grandsons of the original owner and operator.
