American travelers are flocking to Italy this year to experience “la dolce vita,” with the country emerging as the top destination in Europe, according to a new study by Driverso, the world’s first bespoke car rental booking platform.
The study, commissioned by Trainline, reveals that 29% of American respondents are planning a trip to Europe in the next 12 months, with nearly 43% expressing excitement about visiting Italy. Other popular destinations include the United Kingdom (27%), France (18%), and Spain (12%). When asked about their dream European vacation, 58% of respondents indicated a strong interest in exploring historically significant sites or monuments.
Driverso’s data on car rental requests supports this trend, with Italy leading the pack, particularly in cities like Milan, Rome, Florence, and popular regions such as the Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, and Venice.
For many vacationers, a luxury car is an integral part of their once-in-a-lifetime trip. According to Driverso’s Analysis Lab, the most sought-after car rental models include the Land Rover Range Rover, Porsche 911 992, Mercedes Benz G63, and convertibles like the Audi A5 and BMW M440.
Driverso was founded by luxury car hire experts with decades of experience, aiming to streamline the booking process by offering a quick, transparent, and efficient way to book luxury cars online. The platform provides clear pricing, real-time availability, and a high level of service, addressing common frustrations in the luxury car rental industry.
