FAYETTEVILLE — The 2024 NFL Draft begins Thursday and a few former Arkansas football players will hope to hear their names called before it concludes Saturday.
After Round 1 on Thursday, Rounds 2 and 3 will be held Friday with Rounds 4-7 on Saturday.
Only two Razorbacks were selected in 2023: Offensive lineman Ricky Stromberg, who went to the Washington Commanders in the third round, and linebacker Drew Sanders, who went to the Denver Broncos in the third round. Six Arkansas players have been selected during coach Sam Pittman’s tenure.
Here is a look at the top four Razorbacks who could be selected in this year’s draft.
K Cam Little
Cam Little is one of the top kickers available in this year’s draft, along with Alabama’s Will Reichard, Stanford’s Joshua Karty and Missouri’s Harrison Mevis.
His career field goal percentage at Arkansas was 82.8%, making him the most accurate kicker in program history. His career long was 56 yards. He made 64% of his kicks from 50 yards or longer and 70% from 40-49 yards.
Of course, not many kickers are drafted — only 51 have been selected since 2000 — but Little is a candidate to be one of the few. Watch for him in the late rounds Saturday, and if his name isn’t called, expect him to be a sought-after free agent.
OL Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer spent his first four seasons at Arkansas as a guard before switching to center for the Liberty Bowl at the end of 2022 and staying there in 2023. He was the Razorbacks’ highest-graded offensive lineman (74.5) according to Pro Football Focus.
Limmer impressed at the NFL combine when he led all participants with 39 reps on the bench press.
Prospect rankings vary on Limmer’s standing in this draft class. Athlon Sports ranked him as high as the No. 15 interior offensive lineman. ESPN’s Matt Miller ranked him the No. 5 center available, but his colleagues Field Yates, Mel Kiper and Jordan Reid left him off their top five lists. In all, though, Limmer seems a good candidate to be selected Saturday during Rounds 4-7.
DB Dwight McGlothern
After transferring from LSU ahead of the 2022 season, Dwight McGlothern became one of Arkansas’ top defensive backs. He was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2022 and had a team-best four interceptions. Last season, he missed some time due to a concussion and turf toe, but he still led the team with three picks.
McGlothern was the highest-graded cornerback in the Power 5 and second nationally, according to Pro Football Focus, with a 91.3 defense grade.
McGlothern is farther down the list as an NFL prospect, however. Athlon Sports ranked him No. 30 among cornerbacks in this draft class. If he is selected, it will likely be on Day 3.
DE Trajan Jeffcoat
Trajan Jeffcoat came to Arkansas after five seasons at Missouri, where he was a first-team All-SEC pick as a redshirt sophomore in 2020 after recording 23 tackles, 6 tackles for loss and 6 sacks.
With the Razorbacks last season, Jeffcoat had 16 tackles with 8.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks.
Jeffcoat appears in the late 20-early 30 range of several edge defender rankings. If he is selected in the draft, it will most likely be in the late rounds, or he could sign as an undrafted free agent.
