The final leg of the Triple Crown has arrived. It’s time for jockeys and horses to line up for the Belmont Stakes.
After Mystik Dan won in a thrilling photo finish at the Kentucky Derby, Seize the Grey denied the thoroughbred a chance at Triple Crown glory by holding off the rest of the field at the Preakness Stakes. Barring any late setbacks, those two champions should be able to run at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
The Belmont Stakes will be held on Saturday, June 8, on a 1 1/4-mile course rather than the traditional 1 1/4-mile setup because of the shape of the track at Saratoga. Before the mad dash begins, the annual post position draw will establish the starting gate for each horse.
Here is everything you need to know ahead of the 2024 Belmont Stakes post position draw.
The Belmont Stakes post position draw will occur on Monday, June 3, at 5:10 p.m. ET. The race itself will take place on Saturday, June 8.
The Belmont Stakes post position draw will not air on a national TV channel, but it will be available to watch on the New York Racing Association’s YouTube channel.
