A cutting-edge entertainment venue in Texas is providing locals with the ultimate viewing experience when it comes to watching live sports.
Firsty, we need to give you an insight into the company Cosm, who claim they are “redefining content and the fan experience” with their revolutionary technology.
In short, their aim is to completely immerse and transport you into the content, putting you in the front row of a sporting event by using an 87-foot diameter 12K+ LED dome.
This is called Shared Reality – an experience that bridges the virtual and physical worlds by merging state-of-the-art visuals with the energy of the crowd; not to mention a food and beverage service.
Cosm can take you to the very front of a Premier League game, courtside at NBA games or inside the octagon at UFC events.
Cosm have so far opened two venues; one in Los Angeles and the other in Dallas.
In fact, the Dallas arena opened its door last weekend and boy, has it got people talking after they broadcast a college football match between the Michigan Wolverines and the Texas Longhorns.
X user John Werner posted footage from inside the venue alongside the caption: “Brother just sent me this from Texas. This is at a bar, not in Michigan’s Stadium.”
As you can imagine, the clip [as seen below] soon got people talking.
One fan wrote: “It’s like the sphere but for football fans,” and another commented: “The future is cool sometimes.”
A third said: “I feel like this is kinda what immersive AR/VR experiences were missing. Many people want to experience these events and environments with other people. This is basically like a mini Sphere. A headset can show you a lot of cool things but it can be pretty lonely.”
A fourth wrote: “Brain isn’t comprehending this video,” while a fifth added: “As someone who lives in New York, it genuinely took me two whole minutes to figure out what I was looking at, that’s amazing.”
Last month, a video from the Cosm venue in Los Angeles went viral after they broadcast Manchester United’s Premier League opener against Fulham.
