Four more members of a Chilean gang that burglarized the homes of NFL and NBA players in multiple states have been charged for their role in the theft ring, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Middle District of Florida office.
The investigation spanned several states and led to the arrests of seven people. Federal authorities say South American burglary crews targeted expensive homes next to green spaces, walking trails, golf courses and undeveloped land, breaking in through rear windows or glass doors, on the second floor when possible, and targeting jewelry and designer accessories while leaving other valuables behind, authorities said.
Jordan Francisco Quiroga Sanchez, 22, Bastian Alejandro Orellana Morales, 23, and Sergio Andres Ortega Cabello, 38, all of Chile, are charged in the burglary of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s home in December.
What they’re saying:
The following Chilean migrants, some of them in the country illegally or overstaying visas, were charged in connection with the theft thing:
They’ve been charged with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property. If convicted, each faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.

The backstory:
At the home of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, the alleged thieves took photos of themselves flashing some of the spoils — nearly $300,000 worth of jewelry, watches, designer luggage and glasses. One of them wore necklaces with pendants showing the number 9 and “JB9,” Burrow’s jersey number. This was despite a security team watching the property while Burrow and the Bengals were in Dallas playing the Cowboys. Someone at Burrow’s house discovered it had been ransacked and a bedroom window was broken.
Luxury items swiped from Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s home in December.
The homeowners association gave police a video of a camera on a trail next to Burrow’s house that showed a man walking through the woods with what appeared to be a piece of luggage.
Thieves also have pilfered luxury items from the homes of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and NBA players Luka Doncic, formerly of the Dallas Mavericks, and Mike Conley Jr. of Minnesota.
An unnamed Tampa Bay Buccaneers player was also targeted, as was Milwaukee Bucks player Bobby Portis. A Memphis Grizzlies player who hasn’t been identified was also burglarized.
All of the players who were targeted were out of town or playing in professional games at the times of the burglaries.
