MEDFORD, MA (June 13, 2024) — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2023-24 All-American honors for the season, and the Tufts University men’s tennis squad saw five members of the team earn postseason awards.
The selection criteria for Division III All-Americans is the following: top eight seed in the NCAA singles tournament, win one round at the NCAA singles tournament, finish in the Top 20 in the final ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, win ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or win a first-round match at the ITA National Small College Championships (ITA Cup).
All-American honors are awarded to doubles teams that are a top four seed in NCAA doubles tournament, win one round at the NCAA doubles tournament, finish in the Top 10 in the final ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, win the ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or win a first-round match at the ITA National Small College Championships.
Tufts saw sophomore Javier Gonzalez and junior Vuk Vuksanvic pick up Division III singles’ honors, while the pairs of Sacha Maes and Aarush Ganji along with Vuk Vuksanovic and Alex Ganchev picked up the awards.
Vuksanovic was 18-7 on the season in singles, while teaming with Ganchev to post a 12-9 record together as the top doubles pair on the Jumbo squad. The team was a First Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) selection.
Gonzalez led the team in wins with 20 on the campaign, going 17-5 at the No. 2 spot for the Jumbos.
Ganji and Maes were 7-3 together this fall, as the pair made it to the ITA Cup back in November.
