A friend of late American Pickers star Frank Fritz claims the reason he feuded with his co-star Mike Wolfe was because they struggled to work together on the History Channel show.
Frank’s death aged 60 on September 30came two years after he suffered a strokeand he was last seen on the show in March 2020, before being fired from the series in 2021.
Frank was close pals with Mike and worked with him on the show for two years, but ahead of his death they fell out and were not on speaking terms for two years, before restoring their friendship before he passed away.
Frank’s friend, Jerry Gendreau claims their temporary falling out was because they clashed on the show.
He told The U.S. Sun: “Working with anybody on a daily basis for 10 or 15 years is tough.
“Mike is very, very scripted and knowledgeable about what he does, and Frank would shoot from the hip.
“I was told many years ago, if you like it, if you got a good eye, buy it because somebody else will like it.”
Jerry said Frank and Mike, who created the show, patched things up because of his stroke, and because “whatever happened between them, time always heals.”
He said he wished the pair could have appeared together on the show after they made up.
He said: “I wish everything could’ve come around and ended with one season of them all reconciling.”
As well as suffering a stroke, Frank battled Crohn’s disease – a condition that causes inflammation in the digestive tract – for almost 40 years.
Jerry previously said Frank would’ve returned to the show if he did not have health issues, saying: “I think Frank would’ve went back, but he had his health issues. And he did have some serious health issues.”

Jerry said he reckons Frank became popular with fans on the show because of his “spontaneity.”
He said:“He was truly the comedian who popped out with some of the weirdest and dumbest things that you just go, ‘Wow,’”.
“He made a mark on history.”
Frank revealed his feud with his co-star Mike during an interview in 2021, saying: “I haven’t talked to Mike in two years. He knew my back was messed up, but he didn’t call me up and ask how I was doing. That’s just how it is.
“The show is tilted towards him 1,000 percent. I can’t even bend that far down to show you how much.
“That’s fine. It’s like you’ve got Aerosmith, and there’s Steven Tyler, and he’s the frontman.
“I found my spot, I’m second and he’s number one on the show. That’s no problem with me, maybe he does have a problem.”
