In the caption, Scavino asked fans to greet the “special guest.”

Chris LaCivita, another campaign official, further sparked public outrage by posting a picture of Trump inside the car wearing an orange safety vest. The truck proceeded as part of Trump’s motorcade on the way to his event in Green Bay, representing his 2024 campaign against President Joe Biden. The occasion was a pivotal one in Trump’s campaign tour in Wisconsin.

The day before Trump’s Wisconsin appearance, President Biden sparked a controversy by calling Trump’s fans “garbage” during a campaign call. The President’s remark came after comic Tony Hinchcliffe’s contentious performance at Trump’s Madison Square Garden event. Hinchcliffe’s comments, which included disparaging remarks about Puerto Rico, sparked outrage right away. In response, Biden contrasted Hinchcliffe’s remarks with the personalities of Puerto Ricans he was familiar with from Delaware, where he was born.

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden added, referencing Trump’s rally. Biden stressed his admiration for Puerto Rican and Latino communities in his remarks, criticizing Trump’s purported demonization of Latino communities as “un-American” and incompatible with American principles.

Similar to Hillary Clinton’s notorious “deplorables” statement during the 2016 presidential campaign, which sparked intense condemnation for classifying Trump voters, Biden’s remarks sparked a reaction. Biden quickly came under fire from political heavyweights and pundits, especially those in the GOP, who accused him of demeaning a sizable portion of Trump’s constituency. Republican leaders contended that Biden’s remarks were similar to those of Clinton and may make him less appealing to swing voters.
