Gucci has unveiled the fifth cohort for the Gucci Changemakers North America Scholarship Program. This year, 12 scholars have been selected to receive an academic scholarship, furthering Gucci’s commitment to nurturing underrepresented talent and promoting creativity within their communities.
Since 2019, with the launch of Gucci Changemakers North America, Gucci has strengthened its commitment to bringing meaningful change to the fashion industry. Alongside support to nonprofit organizations through the multiyear Impact Fund, the Gucci Changemakers North America Scholarship Program aims to uplift and empower undergraduate students to pursue their own paths within the design and fashion industry.
The scholarship focuses on undergraduate students with unmet financial need who are interested in the fashion and design industry.
Each of the 12 scholars aspire to a range of careers within the fashion and design sectors, and will receive an academic scholarship of $20,000. They also receive mentorship and virtual internship opportunities through Gucci Americas.
This year’s recipients are: Aaminah Syed, Marist College; Alan Rosas, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; Amanda Fair, California State University, Los Angeles; Anya Dillard, Rutgers University; Azire Muhammad, Centenary College of Louisiana; Christopher Seng, Parsons School of Design; Faith Crawford, Howard University; Gregory Parks, Rhode Island School of Design; Jayda Murray, North Carolina State University; Mariana Segura, Savannah College of Art and Design; Matthew Beeston, Parsons School of Design, and Saima Tate, LIM College.
Separately, the recipients of the Gucci Changemakers Impact Fund will be revealed in the fall. The announcement of the inaugural Gucci Changemakers Creative Fellows and their projects will also occur in the fall.
