St Patrick’s College Maghera recover from conceding two early goals to edge a 0-12 to 2-5 win over first-time finalists Abbey Vocational School Donegal Town in the Ulster Colleges MacRory Cup Final at Celtic Park.
Kevin Muldoon set up two early goals for Conor McCahill as the Donegal side looked in control early on.
However, the south Derry school fought back and a Cormac Og McCluskey frees – one of his four scores – levelled the contest in the second half and points from Finbar McShane, Darragh Doherty and Kevin Barry Mullan helped St Pat’s hold on despite late scores from Tomas Carr and Turlough Carr.
The victory was the Maghera school’s 17th MacRory title and they will go attempt to add All-Ireland glory in the Hogan Cup.
