Ellen DeGeneres, known for her programme The Ellen DeGeneres Show, has relocated to the Cotswolds with her wife Portia de Rossi, an article from entertainment news outlet TheWrap claims.
An individual close to the comedian and talk show host told TheWrap that the pair plan never to return to the US.
According to the source, the couple have told friends that the election of Donald Trump was their main motivation.
The individual said that Ms DeGeneres’ mansion in Montecito, California, has been listed off-market or will be listed for sale soon.
Ms DeGeneres and Ms de Rossi were recently spotted at The Farmer’s Dog in Asthall near Burford, owned by TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson.
The couple attended a performance at the venue by Irish band The Corrs on Wednesday, November 13, with Mr Clarkson’s partner, Lisa Hogan, posting a video featuring the pair on Instagram.
Ms DeGeneres rose to fame in March 1994 with her sitcom Ellen, in which she won widespread acclaim for her portrayal of a neurotic bookshop owner in her 30s.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show was launched in 2003 and ran for 19 seasons until May 2022.
Ms DeGeneres stepped down from the programme following allegations of a toxic workplace environment.
The 66-year-old previously apologised to staff after an internal review found ‘deficiencies related to the show’s day-to-day management’, but denied this was the reason for her exit.
Her final comedy special, Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, premiered on Netflix in September.
It is significant to note that Saldana won a BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Critics Choice award for Emilia Perez this award season.
