WINTERSVILLE — The 2024 Italian American Cultural Club Scholarship Awards dinner was held June 12 at St. Florian Hall. The annual event is a highlight for the club, whose members celebrate the young people who have excelled in various areas throughout their years in school. The students are awarded for their efforts by the IACC and many donors.
This year’s recipients were included Nicholas Nurczyk, who received a scholarship given by the IACC in memory of Adam Scurti. Guy Bucci was presented with a scholarship in memory of Alphonse and Mary Ann Ruggieri, which was donor funded.
Maria Balzano received an IACC-funded scholarship in memory of William DiMarzio. Marcella Balzano was presented an IACC-funded scholarship in memory of Richard Crugnale.
Maya Metcalf was presented with an IACC-funded scholarship in memory of Dr. John Metcalf. William O’Brien was given a donor-funded scholarship in memory of Craig Petrella.
Andrew Loizzo received a scholarship in memory of Ettore I and Ralph Scassa, which was funded by the donor. Emma McFarland received an IACC-funded scholarship in memory of Assunta Olivieri. Gabriella Orecchio was given a donor-funded scholarship in memory of Ettore I and Ralph Scassa. Gabriella Becker was presented with a donor-funded scholarship in memory of Emmanuel Starvaggi.
