LOT Polish Airlines has opened a lounge at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, which becomes the carrier’s first business lounge in North America.
The 617-square-metre lounge is located within the central area of O’Hare’s Terminal 5 and seats up to 165 passengers. Features include a mix of Polish and local cuisines, wifi which is fast enough to accommodate videoconferencing and streaming, charging stations and windows with an automatic dimming function.
The lounge is open to LOT’s business class passengers, as well as first and business class passengers on other Star Alliance carriers, passengers with Gold status with Star Alliance or the equivalent with its individual members, and passengers flying business class on other contracted airlines.
Passengers who do not qualify can also purchase entry at a cost of $55 for LOT’s premium economy passengers, $60 for the airline’s economy passengers and $70 for any other travellers.
Chicago, which has one of the largest Polish communities in the world, is one of LOT’s “most important destinations”, according to the carrier.
LOT flies from Warsaw and Krakow to Chicago, with more than 250,000 passengers travelling on those routes last year.
