GREEN BAY, Wis. (WMTV) – Jordan Love took the field for the first time at training camp after signing his blockbuster deal on Friday night.

He signed a four-year deal worth $220-million, which makes him the highest paid quarterback in NFL history. He also will get a record-setting $75-million signing bonus, and $155-million in full guarantees.

He misses the early portion of training camp as he “held-in,” meaning he showed up, but did not participate. However, no one was seriously concerned that this deal would not get done. For Love, he is understandably happy the deal is done.

“I’m very grateful that the the Packers believe in me and, you know, are putting that faith in me,” Love said on Sunday in his first media availability since the deal was signed. “And it’s definitely, you know, anytime you you make it the NFL. I think since I’ve been here, it’s just something that I felt important to be able to, you know, go out there and put on my best, be my best every day coming here and work, work hard to be able to prove these guys right. Putting the work for my teammates to be able to be the the best player I can be for them.”

“We got to certain moments during the course of, you know, the course of his kind of development where he was taken over with the ones,” Packers GM Brian Gutekunst. “And then you started, everything started to accelerate and then you realized that he he just needed to play. And then we got through that part of that season early last year and then everything took off.”
