The payment technology company Nuvei has been voted the 2024 American Gambling Awards Payment Service Provider of the Year.
The Gambling.com Group, producer of the American Gambling Awards, will host the winners, judges and other invited guests at an exclusive VIP dinner at Torrisi, an acclaimed Michelin Star (2023) restaurant in New York City on Nov. 21.
Based in Montréal and providing services globally, Nuvei operates in more than 200 markets with a combined 150 currencies and 700 alternative payment methods.
The publicly traded company provides the technology and insights to accept next-generation payments, offer all payout options and benefit from card issuing, banking, risk and fraud management services.
Led by founder and CEO Philip Fayer, Nuvei also “goes beyond payment processing, offering strategic partnerships and technological advancements that elevate the iGaming sector,” the company said.
“Our solutions tackle iGaming challenges such as regulatory compliance and optimizing player engagement and satisfaction,” the company said. “By focusing on the end-to-end player journey, we help operators deliver a superior gaming experience marked by ease of use, security, and trust.”
With more than 20 years experience, Nuvei is a leader in iGaming payment solutions and innovation.
“We offer a comprehensive suite of services in highly regulated markets,” Nuvei said. “Our pioneering adoption of Open Banking, through our Instant Bank Transfer platform using the RTP Network, showcases our leadership in real-time transactions.”
Warren Tristram, global senior vice president of gaming at Nuvei, said the company is thrilled to be named Payment Service Provider of the Year at the 2024 American Gambling Awards.
He noted this marks Nuvei’s first win in the category.
“This achievement reflects our commitment to excellence in delivering innovative payment solutions that enhance the gaming experience and support the evolving needs of the U.S. online gambling industry,” Tristram said.
Charles Gillespie, Gambling.com Group co-founder and chief executive officer, congratulated Nuvei on the honor.
“In a complex market like the U.S., providing a seamless, reliable, and secure payment experience is crucial to maintaining player engagement and trust,” Gillespie said. “Nuvei’s ability to address key challenges—like real-time transactions through their Instant Bank Transfer platform and their flawless execution during high-traffic events like key NFL matchups—have made them the clear choice for this year’s award.”
