CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TSN/SMU) – SMU running back Brashard Smith has been named a Second Team All-American by The Sporting News, the publication announced on Wednesday. In his lone season on the Hilltop, Smith has racked up a total of 1,814 all-purpose yards, just 29 shy of the SMU record set by Arthur Whittington in 1976. On the ground, the Richmond Heights, Florida, native is just the 12th 1,000-yard rusher in program history.
