Iga Swiatek has advanced to the semi finals of the Australian Open with a straight sets win over American star Emma Navarro.
The world No.2 completely dominated the first set but ran into a few roadblocks in the second as the eighth seed dug deep amid some brief controversy.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for Navarro, who went down 6-1, 6-2 against the in-form Polish sensation.
“Flawless is one way to describe the performance … so dominant,” Alicia Molik said on the Nine broadcast post-match.
“Navarro put up a great fight. I thought there was a lot of variety in her game to trouble Iga. The way she was able to continually deal with is phenomenal from Iga.”
Swiatek takes on Madison Keys in a bid to make the final.
