The first window of qualifiers for the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 kicks off on Feb. 22, with Team USA set to clash with Cuba in the initial home-and-home matchup.
The Americans are set to embark on their journey towards what they hope will be an eighth FIBA AmeriCup title. They are 6-0 all-time in qualifying games.
Longtime Boston Celtics assistant Jerome Allen will coach a team of 12 Americans, including 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams and former first-round picks like Elfrid Payton and Stanley Johnson.
It is a roster heavy on experience, as nine of the twelve players have played with USA Basketball before. Their first test comes on Feb. 22 on American soil, with the rematch occurring three days later in Cuba.

The FIBA AmeriCup qualifying consists of three two-game windows spread out over a year, beginning this February.
Sixteen teams from throughout the Americas region are split into four groups; each team will play the other teams in their group twice in a ‘home and home’ format. Within each group, the three highest-placed teams will qualify for the FIBA AmeriCup 2025.
Team USA resides in Group D, alongside Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and Cuba.
The Americans will first square off against Cuba in a home-and-home, with the initial game slated for Kissimmee, FL., on Feb. 22 and the second game scheduled for Havana, Cuba, on Feb. 25.
