Veneto Open: Pera beats Errani to move into final
American Bernarda Pera, the No 8 seed, defeated Italian Sara Errani, the No 4 seed, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the final of the WTA $125K Veneto Open on Saturday.
Pera, ranked No 103, will face fellow American Alycia Parks next.
The American won against Latvian Darja Semenistaja (6-3, 6-4), Belarusian Aliona Falei (6-4, 7-5) and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova (6-3, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Errani, ranked No 91, beat Serb Natalija Stevanovic (6-2, 6-4), Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska (7-6 (4), 7-5) and Filipino Alexandra Eala (6-0, 7-6 (3)).
